Baked Parmesan Sweet Potato Fries

These quick and easy Baked Parmesan Sweet Potato Fries are a delicious healthier side dish that is baked in the oven instead of fried then topped with fresh Parmesan cheese!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs sweet potatoes, washed and peeled (2 medium to large size sweet potatoes)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425F. 

  2. Line a baking pan with parchment paper and set aside. 

  3. Slice potatoes into thin wedges or 1/4 inch strips with a sharp non-serrated knife.

  4. In a large Ziploc bag, combine sliced sweet potatoes and oil, seal tightly, and shake to coat the fries.

  5. Pour in garlic salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper, seal tightly, and shake again to evenly coat the fries in the seasoning.

  6. Pour fries onto the prepared baking pan and spread out so the fries cook evenly.

  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through so that each side of the fries gets time to brown and crisp.

  8. Be careful not to burn the fries.

  9. Once removed from the oven, sprinkle with shredded Parmesan cheese.

  10. Garnish as desired.
