Homemade Bread Recipe

This homemade bread recipe is made in your bread machine and then baked in the oven for a perfect homemade bread that is fluffy. This bread tastes amazing and perfect to serve up as a side for dinner, make a sandwich or eat a slice as a snack.

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp dry active quick rise yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp softened butter


  1. Pour warm water into the bread machine pan.

  2. Add flour, salt and butter. Make a hole in the middle of the mixture and pour sugar and yeast into the hole. Set machine to “dough” setting. 

  3. Once it's fully risen, punch it down in the pan

  4. Layout on a floured surface and knead the dough for a minute or two, forming it into a ball. Form into an ovalish-ish log and place into a greased loaf pan. 

  5. Let raise again for one hour. Once the dough has doubled in size, bake a 350 degrees for about 35 mins.

  6. Let cool in pan for five mins. Remove from pan and allow it to fully cool on a cooling rack before slicing.
