In a large bowl or the bowl of your stand mixer, blend the softened butter and brown sugar until they're light and fluffy.
Then, add the egg and vanilla and mix well.
In another bowl, stir together the flour, oats, flax meal, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.
Now, add half of the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, followed by half of the pumpkin puree. Mix until just combined.
