Ingredients

  • 1 package crescent roll dough
  • 6 Tablespoons softened butter, divided (salted or unsalted)
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup prepared cream cheese icing

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to keep the rolls from sticking.
  • Melt two tablespoons of butter in the microwave and set the rest aside for the filling.
  • Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate the triangles. Spread ½ tablespoon of the softened butter evenly over the top of each crescent roll.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle the mixture over the top of the butter on the rolls. Spread it evenly with the back of your spoon, lightly pressing it into the butter.
  • Roll up the dough starting at the wide end of the triangle and place the crescent rolls on the parchment paper lined baking sheet.
  • Brush the top of each roll with the reserved melted butter and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture over the top of each roll.
  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until the crescents are golden brown.
  • While the cinnamon crescents are still warm, spread or pipe the prepared cream cheese icing over the top of each crescent and serve immediately.

Notes

If you prefer you can make your own glaze by combining one cup of powdered sugar with one tablespoon heavy cream, half and half, or milk. Whisk the two ingredients together and drizzle it over the top of the warm rolls before serving.
