Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 Tablespoon white granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon coarse kosher salt
  • 1⅓ cup milk
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  • Turn the waffle iron on to preheat.
  • Add the flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt to a large bowl. Mix until combined.
  • Add the milk, butter, vanilla, and eggs to the bowl. Mix until fully combined.
  • With a pastry brush use the leftover melted butter in the empty bowl to brush on the waffle maker before adding the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the waffle iron where the waffle iron is covered. You want just enough batter to cover the surface. You do not want the waffle batter to overflow.
  • Cook the waffles for 3-6 minutes (review the instructions of your waffle to make to exact the timing),
  • Place onto your serving dish and enjoy.

Notes

To store allow leftover waffles to cool completely, then store them in an airtight container or zip-top bag. They'll keep well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
To freeze, place the waffles in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze until solid for about 2 hours. Then transfer them to a freezer-safe bag or container. They'll keep for up to 2 months.
We serve these with Cinnamon Whipped cream. To make it add 1 cup of heavy cream, 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar, and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon to a large bowl. With a hand mixer mix for 2-4 minutes or until you have stiff peaks. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
