This Skillet Brownie is a delicious treat with a rich, indulgent flavor and a moist, fudgy texture that you can enjoy right out of the skillet.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (divided)
  • 3 eggs
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup cocoa
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon espresso powder (optional - intensifies chocolate flavor)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350º F.
  • Melt butter and ½ cup chocolate chips together, either over a double boiler or in 15-second intervals in the microwave.
  • Whisk eggs and brown sugar together in a large mixing bowl until it lightens in color.
  • Whisk in vanilla and melted butter-chocolate mixture.
  • Stir in the cocoa, flour, salt, and espresso powder. Then, stir in the remaining chocolate chips.
  • Pour into a greased 8-inch skillet.
  • Sprinkle with additional chocolate chips if desired.
  • Bake in the center of the oven for 25 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and let cool.
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped topping.

Notes

Once Brownies cool to room temperature, transfer individual slices to an airtight container and store them for up to 2 days or store them in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Use an 8-inch skillet as recommended. Using a different size may affect the baking time and result in an unevenly cooked brownie.
