These sheet pan cheeseburger sliders are great for game day or when I have friends over at the last minute. They're super easy to put together and always disappear fast. Plus, they're great for feeding a crowd without spending hours in the kitchen.
I love to play around with the recipe based on what I have on hand. You can switch up the cheese, experiment with the sauce ingredients, or even use ground turkey or ground chicken to lighten them up a bit. It's a great base recipe that you can tweak to suit your tastes and what you have available.
I like to make a big batch of these on the weekend and reheat them for quick lunches during the week. They hold up really well in the fridge or freezer, which is a big plus in my book.
When I'm serving this cheeseburger sliders recipe, I like to set out a bunch of extra toppings so people can dress up their sliders however they like. Lettuce, tomatoes, sliced onions, and pickles are always welcome additions to cheeseburgers!
Ingredient Notes
See the printable recipe card below for all ingredients, specific measurements, and complete instructions.

- Hawaiian rolls: These sweet, soft rolls are the perfect base for our sliders.
- Ground beef: I like to use lean beef, 90% or higher, to keep things a bit lighter.
- Cheddar cheese: Shredded cheddar melts nicely and gives that classic cheeseburger taste.
- Mayonnaise: Hellman's Real Mayonnaise is my go-to for the sauce.
- Ketchup: Works with the mayo to create a tasty sauce base.
- Sweet relish: I prefer sweet relish, but dill works too if that's more your style.
- Dijon mustard: I use Grey Poupon country Dijon for a nice texture, but yellow mustard is fine, too.
- Salted butter: This helps bring out the flavors, but unsalted is okay if that's what you have.
- Sesame seeds: For that classic burger bun look and a bit of crunch.
How To Make Cheeseburger Sliders
Start by preheating your oven to 350°F. While it's heating up, slice your Hawaiian rolls in half and pop them on a baking sheet.

Cook your ground beef in a pan over medium-high heat until it's no longer pink. Drain off any excess fat and set it aside.
Now for the sauce - mix together the mayo, ketchup, relish, and Dijon mustard in a small bowl. This sauce really adds a punch of flavor to the sliders.

Spread the sauce on the bottom half of the rolls, then layer on the cooked beef and cheese. Put the tops of the rolls on and brush them with melted butter. Sprinkle some sesame seeds on top for that classic burger look.

Cover the sliders with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Then, take off the foil and let them bake for another 5 minutes or so. You want the cheese all melty and the tops golden brown and crispy.
Let them cool for a few minutes before serving - they'll be super hot!

Make-Ahead, Storing and Freezing
Make Ahead: You can prep these ahead of time and freeze them before baking. Just thaw overnight in the fridge before you want to cook them, or bake from frozen (you might need to adjust the cooking time a bit).
Store: These cheeseburger sliders will keep in the fridge for up to 3 days. Just make sure they're in an airtight container.
Reheat Leftovers: For best results, reheat them in the oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes, or until they're heated through. You can also use the microwave for a quick reheat, but the rolls might not be as crispy.
Freeze: You can freeze these for up to 2 months. When you're ready to eat them, pop them in the oven at 350°F for about 20 minutes - no need to thaw first. They come out great, with extra crispy tops and bottoms.
Substitutions and Variations
- Switch up the cheese. Try American, gouda, pepper jack, or Swiss. Swiss is especially good if you add some mushrooms!
- Change the meat. Ground turkey or chicken work well for a lighter option.
- Play with the sauce. Add some hot sauce for a spicy kick, or use barbecue sauce for a different flavor.
- Try different rolls. While Hawaiian rolls are great, you could use other small rolls or even mini burger buns.
- Add some veggies. Sautéed onions or mushrooms can add extra flavor and nutrition.
Recipe Tips
- For juicier sliders, try mixing in a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce with your ground beef before cooking.
- These sliders go great with sides like fries, baked beans, or coleslaw.
- If your rolls are browning too quickly, just cover them with foil again for the last few minutes of baking.
- If you're making these for a party, consider setting out extra toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, and onions so people can customize their sliders.

Can I prepare the ground beef mixture ahead of time?
Yes, you can cook the ground beef up to a day in advance. Just store it in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat it slightly before assembling the sliders.
How do I prevent the sliders from falling apart when serving?
Let the sliders rest for about 5 minutes after baking before cutting and serving. This allows the cheese to set a bit, which helps hold everything together. Also, use a sharp knife and cut straight down rather than sawing back and forth.
These Cheeseburger Sliders on Hawaiian rolls are a fun twist on a classic favorite. They're perfect for parties, game day snacks, or just a fun family dinner. The best part is how easy they are to make and how versatile they can be. Give them a try - they might just become your new go-to party food!
