I just love old cookbooks and my mom has a large collection of them. They have so many great recipes that I remember eating as a child.
I remember eating at Shoney's on Wednesday's before church or Sunday night after church. So when I saw this recipe for Shoney's Strawberry Pie it really brought back some great memories of time spent with family and friends.
SHONEY'S STRAWBERRY PIE
1 cup fresh strawberries
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons strawberry jello
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Bring ingredients to boil and cook for about 10 minutes until mixture thickens.
Once cooled put strawberries in a cooked pie crust and pour mixture over berries.
Refrigerate. To serve top with ice cream or cool whip.
