I'm obsessed with this Peach Delight because it's like all my favorite desserts rolled into one. The graham cracker crust is so buttery and crisp, and it's the perfect base for the creamy, tangy cheesecake layer.
And then you have that peach pie filling. It's bursting with sweet, juicy peaches that pair perfectly with the rich cheesecake and fluffy whipped topping. And the chopped pecans on top add the perfect nutty crunch.
I love serving this dessert at summer barbecues and potlucks. It's always a hit, and people can't believe how easy it is to make.
Peach Delight is also super customizable. Don't like peaches? Swap in any other fruit pie filling you like - cherry, blueberry, or apple would all be delicious. And if you're not a fan of nuts, just leave off the pecans or swap in some shredded coconut.
Ingredient Notes
See the printable recipe card below for all ingredients, specific measurements, and complete instructions.
- Graham Crackers: The base for the buttery, crisp crust. Crush them finely in a food processor or use store-bought graham cracker crumbs for the best texture.
- Butter: Melted butter binds the crust together. Use unsalted so you can control the amount of salt.
- Cream Cheese: The key to the creamy, tangy cheesecake layer. Make sure it's softened to room temp for easy mixing.
- Confectioners Sugar: Powdered sugar sweetens the cheesecake layer. If you make homemade whipped cream, you can also add powdered sugar to it for stability.
- Vanilla Extract: Adds a subtle floral flavor to the cheesecake filling.
- Whipped Topping: You can use homemade whipped cream if you prefer.
- Peach Pie Filling: Use a good quality canned filling for the best flavor.
- Pecans: Chopped nuts add a crunch to the top of the peach delight. Toast them first for even more flavor.
How To Make Peach Delight
Start by preheating your oven to 350°F and greasing a 9x13 inch baking dish. This will help the crust brown evenly and prevent it from sticking.
To make the crust, crush the graham crackers into fine crumbs using a food processor or a plastic bag and a rolling pin. Mix the crumbs with the melted butter until well combined.
Press the crust mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish using your hands or the bottom of a measuring cup. Bake for 7 minutes, then set aside to cool completely.
For the cheesecake layer, beat the softened cream cheese, confectioners sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in half of the whipped topping until it's fully incorporated.
Spread the cheesecake mixture evenly over the cooled crust, making sure to get it all the way to the edges.
Next, pour the peach pie filling over the cheesecake layer and spread it out in an even layer.
Top the peach layer with the remaining whipped topping, spreading it all the way to the edges of the dish.
Finally, sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the top of the whipped topping.
Chill the dessert in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours, or overnight if you have the time. This allows the layers to set up and the flavors to meld together.
When you're ready to serve, slice the peach delight into squares and enjoy the creamy, fruity goodness!
Can I use fresh peaches instead of canned pie filling?
Absolutely! Just peel, slice, and cook down the peaches with some sugar and cornstarch until they're thick and syrupy.
Easy Variations
- Change up the fruit. Use any flavor of fruit pie filling you like - cherry, blueberry, strawberry, or apple are all delicious.
- Swap the nuts. Swap the pecans for walnuts, almonds, or shredded coconut for a different flavor and texture.
- Change the crust. Use gingersnap cookies or vanilla wafers instead of graham crackers for the crust.
Make-Ahead, Storing and Freezing
Make Ahead: This peach dessert is a great make-ahead option for parties and gatherings. You can assemble the whole thing up to a day in advance and let it chill in the fridge until you're ready to serve.
Store: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. The crust may get a bit softer over time, but it'll still taste delicious.
Freeze: You can also freeze your peach delight for longer storage. Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and foil, then freeze for up to 2-4 weeks. To defrost, place it in the refrigerator overnight before serving.
Recipe Tips
- Let the cream cheese soften at room temperature for easier mixing and a smoother texture.
- Use a measuring cup or glass to help press the crust evenly into the bottom of the dish.
- Spread the layers all the way to the edges of the dish for a pretty presentation.
- Chill the dessert for at least an hour, but overnight is even better for the best texture and flavor.
