Tips For Making Hand Pies
You can use other pie filling flavors if you don't like Cherry. Blueberry, strawberry, apple and peach pie filling are delicious too! Use your favorite flavor.
Premade or homemade pie crust will work with these hand pies.
If you don't want to use a can of pie filling you can make your own pie filling from scratch.
Top it with a sugary glaze and and sliced almonds to make it a little extra special.

Star Shaped Mini Cherry Hand Pies
These Cherry Hand Pies are super easy and delicious. They make a special breakfast or brunch treat or tasty dessert. I like to top mine with a scoop of ice cream!
Ingredients
1 box (14 oz.) premade pie crust dough
1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
1 egg
1 tbs water
sugar for sprinkling
How To Make Star Shaped Mini Cherry Hand Pies
To make these Mini Cherry Hand pies start by preheating the oven to 425.
Next use a 4 inch star cookie cutter to cut out 6 stars from each pie crust.
Then spoon about 2 tablespoons of filling onto half of the stars keeping the filling in the center.
Using water and your fingertips, wet the edges of the stars with the filling.
Carefully cover with the other half of the dough stars, pinching the edges together and crimping it shut with a fork.
In a small bowl, beat together the egg and water.
Using a brush or your fingers, lightly coat the top of each pie with the egg mixture.
Sprinkle with sugar and bake on parchment-lined baking sheet for 12-15 minutes.
Allow the hand pies to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
