What is a strip steak? The strip steak is a cut of beef steaks from the short loin from a cow. It's very tender, with fine marbling and has a deep flavor. It's a steak lovers favorite.

Nothing says summer like a grilled steak! Summer cookouts are always full of good times and good food. We love grilling out steaks, hamburgers, and chicken.
Corn on the cob is one of my favorite side dishes for summer cookouts. Any kind of summer vegetables are perfect served with this delicious steak.

Grilled Strip Steak With Homemade Marinade Ingredients
2 one pound pieces of strip steak
1 clove of fresh garlic, smashed and minced
salt and pepper to taste
¼ cup of Italian dressing
½ cup of bbq sauce
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
How to cook Strip Steak
To make the marinade combine the Italian dressing, minced garlic, bbq sauce, brown sugar, salt and pepper together in a glass dish just big enough for both pieces of meat.

Marinade the strip steaks by covering and chilling in the refrigerator for 3 to 24 hours depending on how much time you have.
Before grilling take the meat out and let it rest on the counter for 20 to 30 minutes.
Heat your grill to 450 degrees or medium high. Place the meat on the hot grill and cook each side for 3 to 4 minutes depending on how thick the pieces are and how you like your steak to be cooked.
We enjoyed this with golden baked potatoes and sautéed asparagus. You can serve with your favorite side dishes.

- 1/2 cup of bbq sauce (your favorite brand)
- 1 tbsp of brown sugar

- Combine the Italian dressing, bbq sauce, minced garlic and brown sugar together in a glass dish just big enough for both pieces of meat.
- Coat the meat with the marinade, cover and chill for 3 to 24 hours depending on how much time you have.
- Take the meat out and let it rest on the counter for 20 to 30 minutes before grilling.
