This recipe allows you to enjoy the traditional flavors of pecan pie in a dessert bar that's easy to make ahead and to slice and serve on platter. Perfect for the holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas.

These are made in a 10x15 pan making them a perfect dessert to feed a crowd! My friend calls these the best ever pecan pie bars and they are so good that they quickly disappear.

My family loves dessert bars because they are easy to serve and easy to take in lunches and to events or social gatherings. If you are looking for more dessert bar recipes to try you might like these Rolo Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars, Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal Bars and these Banana Nut Bars. And one of my favorites are these Salted Caramel Pecan Bars.

Recipe Baking Tips

Always soften the butter to room temperature before using it to make it easier to cream with your other ingredients.

When measuring flour be sure and spoon it into a dry measuring cup first and level off the excess with smooth edge of butter knife to get accurate measurements.

You can purchase chopped pecans but I always purchase pecan halves because I can get a good deal on them at Costco and chop them myself with my Pampered Chef food chopper. It works great.

Helpful Supplies and Tools

Here are a few items that I recommend and use in my kitchen that are helpful when baking/cooking. (Affiliate links).

If you need a good 10x15 baking pan I just purchased this OXO Good Grips Non-Stick Pro Jelly Roll pan to use for sheet cakes and dessert bars.

When baking a lot it's great to have a sturdy stand mixer, if it's in the budget. I have this KitchenAid Classic Series Stand Mixer in white and love it. I've had it for over 10 years and highly recommend it. I also have this Cuisinart 9-Speed Handheld Mixer with Storage Case in white. I like being able to store everything together in my cabinet..
