Easy Salted Caramel Pecans Bars
This is one of the first desserts I make as soon as Fall season starts. I love to serve them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream when they are hot out of the oven!
These Salted Caramel Pecan Bars are drizzled with caramel and topped with kosher sea salt before serving for a delicious dessert bar that is sweet and salty! The perfect combination of flavors.
Ingredients
- refrigerated sugar cookie dough
- caramel sundae topping
- all purpose flour
- kosher sea salt
- crushed pecans
How To Make Recipe - Step By Step
STEP 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 8x8 baking pan with non stick spray.
TIP: For easy removal line the pan with foil or parchment paper. Be sure to spray foil to prevent sticking.
STEP 2: Take 1/2 cup of the cookie dough and set aside. Press the remaining cookie dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.
STEP 3: Bake for 20 minutes until the crust is lightly golden brown.
STEP 4: Prepare the caramel filling while the cookie dough is baking.
STEP 5: Combine the 1/2 cup caramel topping and the flour in a small bowl. Mix until combined. Once the crust is done baking, spread the caramel topping over the top. Stop right before the edge.
STEP 6: Sprinkle light layer of pecans on top of caramel filling. Then take the 1/2 cup dough that was set aside and break it up then sprinkle it all over the top of the pecan caramel filling. Next sprinkle the remaining crushed pecans all over the top.
STEP 7: Return to oven and bake for 30 minutes, until the top is light golden brown.
STEP 8: Cool for at least an hour. Once cooled drizzle the remaining three tablespoons of caramel topping over the top then sprinkle with the sea salt.
Cut into bars and serve! Enjoy!
How To Store
Once cooled store in an air tight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. If staking on top of each other I recommend adding wax paper or parchment paper between the layers to prevent the bars from sticking together. Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes prior to serving.
Variations for Salted Caramel Bars With Pecans
