Gingerbread French Toast

I am a big fan of french toast and order it a lot when we eat out for breakfast. But french toast is a easy recipe to make at home and this Gingerbread French Toast is a favorite at our house.

Gingerbread French Toast Recipe

I like making french toast because everyone likes it and it's a quick and easy breakfast. It's also a great way to use up partially stale bread or leftover bread, which works great for making french toast.

Don't throw out your leftover bread. Freeze it and when you have enough to use, you can make your favorite french toast. We do this all the time and it works great and you don't waste anything.

Repeat for each piece of toast. Drizzle with molasses or syrup and top with a slab of butter. Enjoy!

Tips For Making French Toast

  • Don't use fresh bread. The drier your bread, the better it will soak up the egg mixture.
  • Don't use skim milk. Always choose whole-fat milk.
  • Bring your ingredients to room temperature so it's easier to incorporate.
  • Saturate your bread slices but don't get them really soggy.
  • Preheat the skillet before adding the bread.
