Lemonade adds a refreshing flavor to this icebox pie, making it perfect for any occasion. But you can easily substitute other flavors in place of the concentrated lemonade. Simply take a look in your freezer section to find a flavor that sounds good to you!

There are a variety of different frozen juice concentrates that would work with this simple no-bake pie recipe, including frozen orange juice, limeade concentrate, and frozen pineapple juice concentrate.

Ingredient Notes

See the printable recipe card below for all ingredients, specific measurements, and complete instructions.

Ingredients to make lemonade pie set out on the counter.
  • Frozen lemonade concentrate - Provides so much lemonade flavor to the pie.
  • Sweetened condensed milk - Adds sweetness and creaminess to pie.
  • Frozen whipped topping - Cool Whip works perfect in this recipe.
  • Graham cracker crust - I use store-bought graham cracker crust to save time.

How To Make Lemonade Pie

This no-bake dessert is so simple to make! Just combine the filling ingredients and spread it into your premade crust. The hardest part about preparing this recipe is waiting for the filling to chill.

Start by mixing the frozen lemonade and sweetened condensed milk in a large bowl. Use a hand or stand mixer to beat the two ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

Then, slowly fold in the whipped topping until thoroughly mixed into the lemonade filling. Pour the prepared filling into the graham cracker pie crust and spread it evenly until the top of the pie is smooth.

Cover the pie with the lid from the pie crust and place it in the refrigerator to chill. The pie will be ready to eat in around 4 to 6 hours, but it’s best to let it chill overnight to help the filling become solid and easy to slice.

Why Is My Lemonade Pie Runny?

This creamy no bake pie is prepared with two different liquids – lemonade and sweetened condensed milk. That means the filling may take longer than usual to firm up in the fridge. So, if your pie is still runny after chilling it for four hours, it probably needs to be chilled for a little longer. The filling can take up to eight hours to fully set in the refrigerator.

If your filling is still runny but you want to speed up the firming process, place it in the freezer. Freezing your pie will help the liquids solidify more quickly, ensuring that your filling doesn’t become runny while you cut your pie into slices.

Can I Use Whipped Cream?

While whipped cream makes a delicious topping for your pie after it’s prepared, I wouldn’t recommend mixing it into the pie filling itself.

Whipped cream doesn’t set up the same way as a frozen whipped topping, like Cool Whip. That means you could have runny pie filling if you substitute this ingredient.

Storing and Freezing

Store: Since the pie filling for this no bake dessert is made with sweetened condensed milk, it can quickly become runny if left at room temperature for too long. That’s why it’s important to keep the pie chilled.

When you’re finished slicing and serving the pie, immediately return it to the fridge to ensure the filling doesn’t start running and the crust doesn’t become soggy.

You can store your pie covered in the pie pan. Or transfer the extra slices to an airtight container. Keep the pie in the refrigerator for up to three days.

Freeze: Place the pie in the freezer fully covered in plastic wrap or inside an airtight container for long-term storage. The pie can be stored in the freezer for up to two months.

To serve the pie, you can slice it straight from the freezer if you like a more solid filling. Otherwise, transfer the frozen pie to the refrigerator to thaw overnight before serving.
