What are totchos? They are a mix of two common appetizers, nachos and tater tots! It starts with a tater tot base, cheese of course, and finishes off with a variety of toppings.
I love a quick and easy sheet pan meal, and totchos are no exception. You only need four ingredients, and they cook in a matter of minutes with your oven's broil feature!
This recipe is inspired by a classic slice of pepperoni pizza, but you can add a wide array of toppings to customize this dish to your liking.
Ingredient Notes
See the printable recipe card below for all ingredients, specific measurements, and complete instructions.

- Tater Tots—Cooked.
- Marinara Sauce—To really give these totchos a pizza inspired flavor.
- Pepperoni—You can use turkey pepperoni, beef pepperoni, spicy pepperoni; it’s up to you!
- Mozzarella Cheese—Freshly shredded cheese melts down the best, but pre-shredded cheese will work as well.
How To Make Pepperoni Pizza Totchos
The first step is to cook your tater tots by following the package directions.

Next, spread the cooked tater tots on a large baking sheet and pour the marinara sauce over them. Using a large spoon, gently toss the tots until they are evenly coated in sauce.
Layer the cheese and pepperoni over the top of your tater tots. Place in the oven and broil them on high (keep a close watch on them) until the cheese is completely melted.

Totchos Toppings
The topping options are truly endless! Whatever you like to have on your pizza can be chopped up and added to your totchos for more flavor.
Some of our favorite toppings to add include sautéed mushrooms, olives, bell peppers, and cooked ground sausage. You can also add toppings like basil, oregano, and red peppers flakes to them for more flavor.
Storing and Reheating
You can store any leftover totchos in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat your leftovers in the microwave for 30-45 seconds or until hot. It is important to note that when reheated this dish loses its crunch, but will still have the same bold flavor.
If you want to reconstitute some crispiness in your tater tots then you can instead reheat them in an air fryer. Simply add your leftovers into an air fryer for about 5 minutes at 350°F.
Recipe Tips
- Grab your favorite red sauce. This is an easy way to modify the flavor of the totchos a little bit!
- Watch your totchos closely as they cook. They don’t need to cook for very long at all, and you don’t want the cheese to start burning.
- Freshly grated cheese will melt down better and be much more gooey, but feel free to use pre-shredded cheese if that is what you have on hand. You can also use fresh mozzarella logs for some extra tang.
- For some extra flavor, try topping your totchos with grated Parmesan cheese before or after they go into the oven.
