What can be better than S’mores in a Jar? It's a no mess way to eat them!
I usually assemble these chocolate parfaits in 8oz glass jars, but you could also use smaller 4oz jars.
Ingredients
See printable recipe card below for all ingredients, specific measurements, and complete instructions.

- Chocolate Pudding Mix - Prepared with 2 cups of milk. I like the richness of whole milk, but you can use any kind of milk.
- Graham Crackers - Finely crushed.
- Mini Marshmallows - Adds that classic campfire flavor and chewy texture. Regular marshmallows will be too large for the layers of this dessert.
- Heavy Whipping Cream - Adds a light and creamy component to this dish.
- Powdered Sugar - Perfectly sweetens the heavy cream.
Recipe Variations
- Don’t have any small mason jars? You can serve this parfait trifle-style instead! Simply layer your crushed graham crackers, chocolate pudding, marshmallows, and whipped cream in a large trifle dish or clear serving bowl.
- Add some extra campfire flavor by toasting the marshmallows before adding them to the parfaits. You can do this over an open flame like normal or under the broiler of your oven.
- Not a big fan of graham crackers? Feel free to swap them out for another parfait ingredient. Make a chocolate dipped strawberry parfait by subbing in sliced strawberries or strawberry jam. Or create a chocolate peanut butter parfait by adding chocolate peanut butter cups or crumbled peanut butter cookies. Get creative!
How to Make S'mores Parfaits

Prepare the chocolate pudding mix by whisking it with 2 cups of milk. Once the mixture is thick, cover it and let it set in the refrigerator to chill for one hour.

In a mixing bowl, whip together the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar to stiff peaks. Set aside.
Into each mason jar, layer the crushed graham crackers, chocolate pudding, mini marshmallows, more pudding, and finally the whipped cream.

Garnish with crushed graham crackers, serve, and enjoy!
Recipe FAQs
Not necessarily. A parfait is a layered dessert usually made with a variety of sweet ingredients such as cake, cream, pudding, jam, and fruit. Mousse on the other hand, is a thick, pudding-like chocolate dessert that is typically served on its own; although, some parfait recipes call for mousse to be used in one of the layers. Parfaits are also sometimes served for breakfast with layers of yogurt and granola. Mousse is strictly an after-dinner dessert.
Parfaits are almost always served cold! Because these parfaits are filled with whipped cream and prepared instant pudding, you’ll want to make sure that they’re either stored in the fridge or served right away. These no bake parfaits are a cool, creamy treat best enjoyed on a hot summer’s day!
This silly name comes from combining the words “some” and “more.” These s’more parfaits are so popular that kids and adults alike will be asking for s’more!
How To Store
These S'mores Parfaits are a great make-ahead dessert because they’ll stay good in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Just be sure to cover them with a layer of plastic wrap before chilling.
Over time, the graham crackers will soften a bit, but the flavors will stay fresh! When you’re ready to serve dessert, simply pull these parfaits out of the fridge, grab a spoon, and enjoy!

How To Serve Parfaits
These Parfaits are a tasty, single serve dessert perfect for your next dinner party or holiday potluck. For a little extra pizzaz, I like to top with some extra crushed graham crackers, shaved chocolate, a sprig of fresh mint, hot fudge, or some roasted marshmallows.
Recipe Tips
- Save some time by using canned whipped cream or whipped topping instead of freshly whipped cream.
- You can use cook and serve chocolate pudding in these parfaits instead of instant. Just be sure to let the pudding cool completely before adding it to your dessert.
- Use a food processor, a blender, or a Ziploc bag and a rolling pin to crush the graham crackers into crumbs.
- If you are not serving these parfaits immediately, they should be covered with lids or plastic wrap and stored in the refrigerator.
