Creamy Ranch Taco Dip With Ground Beef

This creamy Ranch Taco Dip recipe combines ground beef, taco seasoning, cream cheese, shredded cheese, diced tomatoes with green chilies and sour cream for a crowd-pleasing appetizer!
Some people call this Taco Crack Dip because it's so good it's addicting. There is so much flavor in every bite!
Tips For Making This Taco Dip
This recipes has a cream cheese and sour cream base. For best flavor and texture I recommend using full fat cream cheese and sour cream. It really makes a difference in the thickness and creaminess.
In this recipe you can use a packet of store bought ranch dressing mix or use homemade ranch dressing if you prefer.
It's worth the effort to shred your own cheese. Freshly grated cheese does not contain any additives and tastes better. I shred mine using the large holes on a box grater but you can also use the shredding disk of a food processor.
Recipe Variations and Substitutions
This recipe is so versatile. You can easily swap out ingredients to your liking.
If you don't have Rotel or a can of diced tomatoes with green chilies you can substitute with Salsa instead.
You can use whatever cheese you have on hand such as cheddar, Mexican cheese or Pepper Jack.
Add some heat to the dip by mixing in diced jalapenos.
You can easily substitute ground turkey for ground beef.

How To Make Ranch Taco Dip Appetizer
In a large skillet over medium-high heat brown the ground beef until done. Drain any grease from skillet.
Next add the taco seasoning, water, and tomatoes with green chilies to the ground beef and stir to combine. Simmer until the sauce thickens.
Once the sauce has thickened add in the softened cream cheese, sour cream, ranch dressing, and shredded cheese.
Cook over medium low heat until the cream cheese is melted and all ingredients are blended well. Stirring often to avoid clumps.
Once done transfer to serving dish and garnish with your favorite toppings.
How To Serve Taco Dip
Serve this Taco Dip with your favorite classic taco toppings such as black olives, chopped tomatoes, extra shredded cheese, diced avocados, and jalapeños.
We like to serve with a side of tortilla chips, Frito scoops or crispy fresh vegetables such as baby carrots and celery sticks for easy dipping.
